    Pied-billed Grebe at Gilbert Water Ranch

    Looks like he has a smile on his face. I could have cropped tighter but the water ring on the right adds some interest.
    1/1000 at f8 and ISO400 EC -2/3
    Bigma at 363mm
    Canon 40D

    Interesting composition, good eye contact and the fish adds to it. I also like the blue ring around the bird. Is this a heavy crop, there seems to be some lack of fine details.

    I agree with Axel, and I would add that the image needs some CCW rotation. The grebe really does look like its grinning!

    Techs covered above - Like the HA, Eye contact and the added bonus of the fish.
    Does seem a tad soft on my screen.
