Another malachite from me recent trip to the Okavango. Must be the best place in the world to photograph the species:)

Beautiful pose and colors Chris. Tack sharp. Beautiful details in the feathers and love the bg. The second stem is a minor distraction, but not major and thanks for leaving it there.

What a lovely image. I also love the background with its' subtle colour banding and the drops of water on the feathers is a wonderful added detail. Agree with David about the second stem, but it's a small thing for me.

Beautiful sharp image with the orangist feet I've ever seen.
The bg is unreal. Is it unreal?

looking at that gorgeous BG I'm sure it is Chris! lovely sharpness, colour and exposure. I would consider getting rid of the reed behind the perch and tail :)

Stunning! Light, species, BG, colors, detail and exposure, the second stem is not ideal specially because it looks "unconfortable" for the bird :p but I loved this image.
    Big congratulations!

Thanks for the comments guys:-) I thought about removing the second perch, but in the end I decided to leave it in, as it give an authentic feel to the image IMO. Daniel the background is OOF vegetation.

Excellent composition, Chris. Wonderful colors and details along with those water droplets. Beautiful background.

I like it that you kept the second perch, makes it almost look as if the bird sits on it. I also like the colors, sharpness and BG. I might try to lighten the eye a bit.

Excellent close-up, I like the intense colours and detail, also the background tones. The second perch looks a little uncomfortable.

Beautiful colors, nice detail on the bird and killer BG. Another vote for removing the second stem.

Ps: It doesn't look like a sinmple clonning job to remove the second stem, I am not sure if I would even try as a lot of the bird's edges are covered by it... although it looks unconfortable, I woud leave it to be honest.

Excellent exposure on the colours Chris, and this is really sharp. Super comp and pose, and what a killer BG.
