    Masked Lapwing photographed near Cunnamulla, south-west Queensland. These are very common birds throughout Australia.

    Canon 40d, EF500mm f/4, tripod, ISO200, f/8, 1/125, Av, slight crop from left.

    lovely looking bird , looks like a cousine of Yellow Wattled Lapwing we find here in India

    Not unlike the African Wattled Lapwing:-) I think you did well with the wide f-stop to blur the background, foreground perhaps a little busy? Whites well controlled.

    Very nice image of the northern race with the exuberant wattles on the forehead. I find these very skittish in NZ but a bit more approachable in Auz for some reason.

    Beautiful bird which I've never seen before. But haven't been to Australia either!
    Nice bg and love the sharpness from head to tail! Hard to get even at this angle me thinks.

    I just love Lapwings... and I just really like this image although a lower angle would have been better IMO.

    Nice one Simon. I like the herbage around the bird - so often they're photographed in open water or green lawns. Nice detail.

    Rob's right, you certainly have a different environment surrounding your bird. I like the comp and the droplet of water is a good extra! :)
