Water Vole, UK's most endangered Mammal. His cheeks are 'blurred' because of the slow shutter speed while he was eating.

The head on vantage point and almost uniform symmetry works well here. I like how he is poised on the rock and being able to see its little claws. The little twig he is munching on adds interest as does his reflection. I wish the yellow lichens / moss covered the entire rock as it would also add to the reflection going across the bottom of the frame and might toy with toning them down just a tad.
Mike summed up my feelings well here Tell. Great composition with the three round geometric forms (rocks and vole).
Hi Tell, Pretty cool. I also find the composition pleasing for all the reason mentioned above. I find the way the vole is balance between the rocks to be amusing. On my monitor I see a blue cast on the fur and two rocks on either side of the vole. Thanks for sharing.
beautiful composition , Agreed with Mike here

What an amazing shot of a very rarely seen animal, the symetry is remarkable.
I also think that there is a slight blue cast.
Hi Tell. Lovely shot and enjoyable for the reasons already mentioned. Pretty cool. See the blue cast too, but easy fix. Thanks for sharing.
Hi Tell, I really like the eye contact, and you have captured symmetry at its best. I like how the two feet are angled out for holding on. Well captured.
Interesting, intimate image. Love the reflection and eye contact. You did well to get the sharpness at that SS.
THis looks like a creature from a childrens' story. Well seen and well photographed.
all good points mentioned above. love the symmetry and 'intimacy'...and good steady hand!
