During my Lake Clark National Park Brown Bear workshop in August of 2009 I did get some opportunities with the birds including this one of a Common Merganser and her oh so large babies. Stitched from two images.

Colours and motion look good. Small size available for web doesn't do this image justice. May consider removing the blue reflection on the sand URC. Great to have a catchlight in mum's eye. That's quite a brood.

I love the action you captured. The splashes and some of the feet being visible adds a lot of interest for me. Good job with the stitch. Does it needs a little Clockwise rotation? Thanks for sharing; it made me smile.

    Phil,

You are right on the rotation. Not sure how I messed that up. Reposted with the rotation and Tony's suggestion. I left more room at top to get the horizon line out of the middle. Thanks.

Robert, A nice concept but with some flaws: the highlights look quite bright and most of the birds are either swimming or facing away from you (or both).

These are not Common Mergansers; note the sharp demarcations of the reddish brown hoods. Did you post any bears from the trip? Did anybody fish for the silvers???

I like the idea of a pano. Good way to include all the birds. Dave

    Nice idea.
Ways too many birds in a string. Lacks sharpness and contrast.
Small size doesn't do justice on the web.
