Great wingspread captured Chris, and like the fanned tail too. I would maybe selectively sharpen his right wing a tad. Still, well captured.

How does histogram look, is there data in the most right stop. Just a suggestion. Great picture, check out hist, and see if there is an opportunity to add some EV and capture more tonal detail to the right w/o clipping - well done.

Great capture, Chris. Lovely light and pose. Would be intrestested in the histogram of the original exposure as I suspect it could have stood a bit more than +0.3 EC to maximise data capture. Love the plumage detail - even the frayed tail:)

Looks as if you caught this heron at the moment of sweetest light with all that beautiful detail of the under wings.

Thanks for all the comments and advice. Jeff & Tony the histogram is all the way to the right and enough data to capture more tonal detail I will have another look at it Thanks.

Amazing.. what I wouldn't give for a shot like this of this species... here in Argentina these are not at all tame, it is very dificult to get even a little close :(
Nice pose, light, detail, colors and great sharpness!
