Default "Kaa" - Tree Boa (Captive)

Taken at Miami Metro-Zoo's Amazon exhibit. I used the G10 to photograph this guy through the glass tank. The g10 in my opinion is the perfect camera for these type of conditions. I placed it flush against the glass and focused in macro mode. I set the flash to -1 which given it's angle to the lens, gave me enough light to get a sharp image, with no flare or glare, or reflections.

I burned the edges on this shot to give me a solid black border. I also used Viveza on the eyes to brighten them up a bit.

Kaa of course if the name of the snake in the Jungle Book. This guy reminds me of that snake.

Kaa ... thatsssss a beautiful ssssnake there. G10 did well in those conditions. If I look closely, I can see the leaves around his head which can be distracting, thogh not a major nit.

    Thankssss for sssharing,
    Kartik

Great flashwork to bring out those colours and detail. Stands out nicely against the darker BG. Great image Michael.

Love the balanced comp you got here. Colors and detail are also quite nice.
