I was out for the day recently with a group of birders looking for seabirds, and fishing, tagging and releasing Blue sharks,, off Halifax, Nova Scotia. There were a number of Northern fulmars, both "blue" and light color morphs. Here is an example of a light morph bird, flying, as they do, on very stiff wings.
D300, 80-400VR, hand-held (and there was quite a roll on the boat). 1/2000, f6.3, ISO800
It's always nice to get some decent images on pelagic trips. I like the wing position and head angle, too bad the light angle was not in your favor. I might try to lighten the eye a bit.
Moving photographer shooting a moving bird, difficult setup - well done.
Looks a little flat to me, cold be NR or all the motion - 1/2000 good shutter and your exposure techs are solid. I like the /6.3 to catch water, maybe work the eye, nice composition and overall great image. Must have been fun to pick em off as they flew by.
