Default The Bridge that came together.

This was taken in Sandwich Mass, This bridge was torn apart from Hurricane Bob. It was rebuild with help from the people that lived in town, each person bought a plank. This is one of my favorite places to be. All C&C welcome.

Great community effort and looks like a peaceful place to be. Landscape is not my best field. I think the shadows on top of the names (main subject) could be a tad distracting. Maybe early light would have been better, let's see what other say. Nice composition, maybe too centered?

Exposure techs look good and I like the horizon line above center - well done.

    Kyle,
I like the comp here and the colors are nice. I like the shadows on the bridge as well, seems to give it depth and I am in a shadow mode lately. I like the trailing off of the names.

Very pleasing composition and a beautiful locale. I went to grad school in Providence, so I know that area well. The clouds -- or are they
contrails? -- worked nicely with the lines of the railings.

Looks just a tad underexposed to me. See what you think.

(Edit: Images disappeared from Imageshack. Yet another illustration of their unreliability.)

Lots to like here Kyle - the composition works for me, histogram shows the blacks as being blocked, which is obviously the shadows - For my tastes I think I would prefer it without the shadows.
Does look a little dark as presented - set a white point and added some sharpening - see if this looks any better to you.

    HI Kyle,
I like the composition and capture...the shadow details are a bit hindered, lacking details, and the image is a tad under exposed. I do like the way the bridge leads you all the way in to the photo...looking forward to your next one...

Yup, the original has very little above 210 in the histogram. The new version does look a lot better.

Here's one more thing to consider though: This seems to be one example of images that would work better in black and white. You have strong contrast that looks a little harsh in color but would actually be your strength in a black and white image. And you have strong lines that are distracted by having strong colors all around. Remove the color put the emphasis back on the overall composition. Just did a quick trial black and white conversion and it looks very promising. You might want to give it a try.

Thanks everyone for the comments, Lance I really like what you did:) Andy I was thinking of doing this b&W someday, I did a different part of the bridge already like that, but i think this one might be a better candidate:D

Oh, one more thing: Just noticed the interplay between the trails in the sky and the handrails. It's rather apparent in black and white. In color, the sky is a little too light to show it well. I think the trails would increase the strength of the sense of convergence in the composition. Might try increasing the blue saturation to bring it out.
