    Default Greater Yellowlegs

This was done over the labour day long weekend at Brechin, Ontario on the east shore of Lake Simcoe:

    1D Mk III, 500/4+1.4x on ground pod, f/7.1 1/1600sec ISO200

    Comments welcome :).

Very beautiful colours and comp Andy. I liked the raised foot, and the water coming off the leg. I like the reflection in the water too. Nice low angle with the ground pod.

Very nice shot Andy. I like the tension created witht he stretched out neck and raised foot along with the good eye contact. Really nice. Dave

Really nice, love the FG and BG blend together and the eye is sharp. Nice detail in the feathers and also like the walking position. Great job:)

Hi Andy - lots to like here, as mentioned above all the techs look good. Love the low shooting angle and the baby blue BG.
    Nice one.

Nice exposure techs , e.g. great shutter speed with over the long focal length. Composition is spot-on with the low angle and nice subject placement in frame.

I like this a lot, congrats.

Thanks a lot for the kind words. Looks like all the mud crawling is worth it...

Using ground pod on wet sand is rather messy though. But it's so much fun I'm looking forward to doing it a lot next year :D. So, anybody here has advice on selecting chest wader? Tips and pointers would be greatly appreciated.

I use tall-waders purchased at Bass Pro and wrap my Gitzo legs when near water. Generally speaking, I will not venture out much above above my pockets.

    Hi Andy,
This is a sweet image, I like the ultra low capture angle with the raised foot and tilted head...the color rendition and feather details are superb...well done...

Hi Andy, this is a very beautiful picture especially due to the reason that its a low angle, very good light and sharp. If it was my pic then I would have lighten the beak a little more. Congrats!!
