Assignment: Light and Shadows – “American Airlines Arena”

    Note:
This is an HDRI composed of five frames. The final image was treated with a textured oil canvas application to bring out the details and contrast.

This is the American Airlines Arena next to Bayside Market Place, located in downtown Miami, Fla. The image was painted with a Nikon D300s, using a Nikkor 18-200mm f/3.5 – f/5.6G ED VR lens.

    Image Solution:
    focal length @ 24mm / exposure mode @ aperture priority / in camera matrix metering / 30 sec. - f/25 /exposure comp @ 0EV / ISO @ 200 / white balance @ cloudy / AF - Mode @ manual / color space @ sRGB / lighting solution – ambient light / tone comp @ 0degree / hue adjustment @ 0 degree / saturation factor @ 0 degree / support platform – tripod assist with remote electronic trigger release.

    Comments greatly appreciated...

Gus the canvas seems uneven around the upper part of the buildings, is that part of the look?

Another fine image Gus, although I do find the partial boat or structure in lrc a bit out of place.
So as a 5 frame HDRI, showing a 30 second exposure, would that be the total combined exposure time, or the time for the last exposure? Tks Gus

    Hi Jeff and Dave,
The uneven pattern of the sky was that way due to the moving clouds. The 30 sec. exposure was for the last, darkest frame...:)

Thanks Gus, now that you mention it, the left hand side demonstrates your point well. Fine image, reflection in the water is fantastic.

Thanks Gus. I can only imagine the amount of hard work and effort that go into a five frame photo like this. Dave
