Nice looking bird Jeff. I really like the treatment of the reds. Dark bg also sets up the bird nicely. Looks like the perch has got the bird leaning a bit. Well done. Dave

Really nice feather details and colors, the claws really stand out in this image. Looks like the bird trying hard to grip the perch and peek at someting. Might sharpen the eye more.
Was the perch slant to left like that? A CW rotation will straight the perch but give the image less feeling of gripping and peeking.

Hi Jeff - some lovely fine fetaher details there - like the HA and the pose -colours look good. Perch does look like it could use just alittle rotation - whether that spoils the charchter of the shot though is the question?

    Good show :)

Bird is leaning because he is playing with me and posing.

    Hi Jeff,
I Like this close up pose very much...the color and details are superb, with a good head angle and sharp eye contact...very nice...looking forward to more...

I think if you give a slight rotation of the perch the bird will still be leaning. Nice colorful, and detailed shot.

Nice color and feather detail. Love that you can see the red bellie. Nice pose and great sharpness. An altogether nice image. The only thing that could make it better would be a little more natural looking perch, as in....something that looks like a tree branch.

agree with all the positive comments on the color, details, and sharpness. I particularly like the pose and slightly open beak--shows a lot of interest and inquisitiveness about you on the bird's part. fun to see that concentration reversed for a change.

Jeff, is this a set up in your yard?
