Trying for something a bit different I exposed this bear with fish to capture detail in the bear when it crossed in front of the sun and was totally backlight. I could not even see the bear in the viewfinder when I made this.

Hi Robert, great metering to show detail in the bear with that glare. I like the slightly raised paw, and the sprayed droplets around the legs. The FG water fading into eternity has an interesting effect. Well captured.

I love the idea, Robert, but the bear's color looks washed out to me. Maybe adding some black to it would even bring the rim light out more?

Very different treatment Robert. Like Fabs suggestions but like what I see here too.

Very unique capture Robert. Love the action and the water droplets and it is neat to see a little different image with such strong backlighting. Some interesting suggestions from Fab. Thanks for sharing a different image.

awesome under that intense backlight.....excellent pp too master Robert.
I tried a wee bit more chroma noise removal and detail enhancement.

No problem. I have four different versions of it. The one presented is the straight-up version w/o correction for the glare induced haze or NR. I liked this one best when I posted it, but generally have to live with the different versions awhile before I make up my mind. Thanks for your interpretation.

Nice shot considering you couldn't see what you were aiming at:) It is different but I like it. I like the way the ripples of the water fade out into nothing in the BG. Also nice to have the fish facing you. I also like Dave's subtle tweak. One thing that stands out to me are the four droplets on the face. I think I'd remove them.
