    Default Theme: Lost in Space

This is a variation of an image I posted earlier. Started with an image of a room in an antique house in Bodie, California, which is a fascinating ghost town. To get the dark effect of the room I copied the background layer and made it into a B&W image. I then mixed that layer in with the bg layer to get the subdued lighting and color effect. :)

Kerry, I remember that image! I loved it then and I love it now. Great feel w/ the B&W and the use of color for the spaceman really makes this nice.

Hi Kerry, I too remember the image and my liking it. This variation also works for me. i like the way you handled the subdued color which is different and effective. The colored astronaut adds much interest and makes for an interesting contrast. Good one!

beautifully executed Kerry....the atmosphere of the room is almost creepy.

NASA doesn't care.....it's the "Forum Police" that might pitch a hissy!!
Even retouching a friends photo by request and posting it is a no no here

Sorry, didn't mean to break any rules. I will ask to have it withdrawn.

sorry, I did not mean to come across rude or sarcastic, but I have been
"reminded/reprimanded" a couple times for posting an image I processed
that was not my original. Had done a few for a friend and posted and
was advised by our mods that it is against the rules....all submissions
must be of my own origin.

sorry Kerry.....I was a bit forward, but in a bad mood tonight.
Be well my friend, I should have kept quiet and away

No Dave, you are right. I wasn't thinking when I posted this. No worries, I have asked Denise to remove it. I will have to go the moon and get my own astronaut shot. :o

Kerry, I just got your PM asking me to delete it and Dave is correct w/o copyright we are not allowed to use an image as per our rules of the Forum-BUT This brings up a good point. Are stock images allowed? How about when someone adds a moon that they have taken off the internet-I've seen that done here before.
I'm not going to take the image down but let's all try to keep this in mind as we continue to create.:D:)
    Kerry, Thankyou for your graciousness.

Dave, I certainly hope you don't feel as though you've been reprimanded. You are a great asset to OOTB. I hope you know that.:)

Thank you Denise. At the very least I would ask that you not consider this image as part of the weekly theme entries. It was poor judgment on my part and I agree that the creativity displayed here should be 100% original.

Fascinating image, Kerry! I remember it from the last time you had posted. It hold a lots of interest for me... reminds me of Stanly Kubrick's 2001 first time I had seen! Great tonality of the B&W image contrasting with the astronaut. Great imagination.
