Today I was checking some old images that I took on one of my trips to Samburu and came across this weaver that I had over looked. They are such interesting little birds and I came acrass a little nest along the side of the road that I brought back with me. The nest hang upside down and I will post a picture of one tomorrow.

Hi Judy. I like the bird, perch, BG, comp...but this image doesn't have the same IQ and crispness as your usual offerings. Perhaps just a resizing issue?

It looks like a large crop as IQ is a little poor, I don't see why the f20, I would have gone with a wider aperture and a lower ISO to avoid noise. Still, very nice little bird. Congratulations!

I am surprised the HA is not commented on. That being said I very much like the contempaltive look. BG color well suited Very nice

Love the eye, BG and perch, Judy. Agree that the image looks soft but there is a prominent halo above the head. Possibly an element of us being spoilt by images from newer and better digital technology. Quite unusual to see a D1x image now and likely needs a slightly different workflow to optimise for web. May be an excuse to head back to Africa with a D300/D700/D3:D:D:D
ISO800 f20 seems an unusual combination.

Yes Tony this was taken back in 2004. It was fun to go back over old files and I do not even have the D1X anymore . There is no doubt that the D3 and the D300 which I have had since they came out make a world of difference. Technology has been getting better and better. You just do not realize what a difference until you start to compare. thanks everyone for your comments . They are much appreciated.

Hi Judy, great sighting, and I feel you controlled the expose nicely. I agree with the others this being a bit soft. Africa is waiting for you.
