I went back this morning and photographed the mate (I think) of Friday's green heron. The image is adjusted in Lightroom only -- cropped (50%), set white balance, exposure, brightness, contrast, clarity, vibrance, saturation and sharpness. What do you think?

Nice action shot Wendell. Too bad the habitat has the white water marks on it other wise it goes well with the bird. Bird does look a bit soft perhaps because it is moving and 1/160 was not fast enough to stop movement. Nicely exposed. Dave

Hi wendell - looking better, Like the raised foot pose. Does look a tad soft on my screen - either because of the movement or 160 might be a little slow at 400MM handheld, some additional sharpening to Mr Green will help.
BG is habitat so IMHO - it is what it is.

Good Show - Keep them coming :)

Lots better Wendell !!! Love the pose and did well in PS processing.

As presented would need more room up front, should see a difference between back and front !!! White areas don't bother me, they are ambiance from other birds. Would clone out trash from water in lower left !!! Excellent image !!!

    Very Nice capture Wendell,
I like the pointing pose with the raised foot, agree on more room in the front, would also selective sharpen the bird, its a little on the soft side...looking forward to your next one...

Nice pose, and good detail on the bird. main issue here is cluttered BG and lack of separation between the subject and the BG, although BG itself is not bad. A busy image will distract from main subject.

Nice bird, like the foot up also, does look a little soft on my screen too, would also put the shutter speed up more. Great job TFS :)
