I just set up my Drobo Pro with 3 1tb drives + 3 2tb drives.
I've copied over all of my photos going back several years. I notice in the older images, especially JPG, the preview on the drobo does not match the photo. Not so in the original drive.
I'm using Mac with Snow Leopard. Anyone have similar issues?
I'd like to ultimately eliminate two external drives and have them in case of emergency and use the drobo were daily backup. Not sure I'm ready to do this yet.
I use a Drobo (not the pro) for archival purposes. For music and non critcal documents etc I am happy with the built-in redundancy of the Drobo. Images are a different matter and I always maintain at least two copies of my files on different drives.
I am running a PowerMac G5 with Tiger and see no difference in the same files either JPG or TIFF in the finder or in PS. You didn't mention what program you were using to view. I thought initially it might have been an xmp file issue however this does not apply to jpgs.
I cannot see how they could differ as a hard drive is a hard drive, and the software is just accessing the image file.
