This adult and young loon were feeding in a small lake along the Cassiar Highway in the Yukon. I couldn't get to my tripod and braced myself against the RV. Where was my 70-200 when I needed it?

Comments and suggestions welcome and appreciated.

I like the idea of capturing both together head to head. However on my monitor the BG Loon looks too dark and the FG Loon's beak gets lost in the detail of the one behind. All that said, it is a good capture for a spur of the moment image.

I agree with Ed, great results for a quick grab image. The close crop is interesting as it is more intimate and shows more detail than the 70-200 would have.

    Thanks for posting.
