Past winter I took some time to photograpf creatures on ice.

It looks very nice, light pose and comp are lovely, I would crop from bottom and remove the stick that is right below the bird.

Nice HA and sharp eye, I would also prefer a tighter crop and more detail in those black feathers. Like the smooth blue BG showing the habitat, bill seems a bit hot and there is subtle posterization in BG. Nice shot overall, TFS.

I agree w/ the two posts already made. Beautiful HA and nice sharp head.Nice details also. I love how the blue and gold colors work so well together. Nicely captured image.
