Well, an image from my files, a Great Egret in not the best light conditions, but I like how these birds look with this type of light :) From a few years ago... hope you like it. Enjoy.

The colors are standout here - -the orange beak, yellow eye and black legs really look good in this light. I like the wing spread and would love to capture a shot like this. Nice

I like the plumage detail with the backlighting, Ramon. Warm tones work well. Did you need to do much selective eye work to get it to pop like that?

    Tony:

    Ever diplomatic.

    Ramon:

I really like backlit images of white birds, and this one displays well, with nice feather detail and I like the splayed toes. The transillumination of bill is fun. The eye does seem too bright for these lighting conditions.

Cool pose, use of back light and eye contact. I particularly like the translucent bill.

Yeap.. the eye could go a tad darker, but I really like how it pops out :)

Beautiful wing details and the translucent bill is very nice as noted above. I also like the warm tones in the bird. Very nicely presented as always.

Despite the non-ideal light direction which you so valiantly noted yourself, this image still works. I also noticed that the eye is way too bright for the light it received and thus for me it looks a little not so natural. Yet, I like the image and understand/appreciate your affection for this design. :)

Excellent full wing position, HA and eye contact. Lightning is exceptional. TFS

Excellent backlighting effect Ramon. Good detail from the full wingspread, and I like how the legs are perfectly placed. Well captured.
