I took this yesterday late in the afternoon. The settings were -

    40D, Sigma 50-500mm @ 500mm hand held
1/3200 sec, f/8 Mode: Av Metering: Evaluative Exp comp: -2/3 ISO: 400

Applied NR on the background and usm. All C&C will be appreciated.

I guess I posted this in the wrong forum instead on the Avian. Not sure how to move it there!!!

Very sharp and perfect wing position. Your exposure is spot on and that red eye really pops. I feel it needs some more room above and a small slice off the bottom. Congrats

Nice light and pose, Indranil. Dark BG works well. Eye provide a good focal point. Critical focus seems to be on the near wing.

I like the dark BG and the nice light. The position of the wings is right and the eye contact is just fantastic. I agree with Tony about the critical focus point :-)

You could sharpen the head/eye a little more mate and have a ripper! Perfectly lit indeed! :)

Thanks for the all the feedback. Really appreciate it. Agree with Tony on the critical focus issue and also the need run another round of usm to sharpen the head more.
