This is another image taken at Katmai . It rained most of the time that we were there and this bear had decided to rest out on one of the little sandy spots left after the tide had gone out. As we approached he sat up for awhile before moving on.

    Judy,

Stunning detail and wonderful pose. I only wish for an open eye.

    Best,

Hi Judy, I am loving your bear pictures, I love the pose in this image as I think it gives the bear character. The detail is very good. Chas has already mentioned the eye but very nice as presented. Thanks for sharing.

Looks like someone got a hold of a bad clam. Great pose, color, and texture. I especially like the golden brown hues. Yes, an open eye might've been nice but this works quite well for me as is.

Terrific pose. Lot of details in the image. An open eye would have been a bonus. Thanks for sharing.

    Judy,

Good detail and positioning of the bear scratching. I like the head's position, pointing towards the feet and making a good leading line bringing the viewing from the face, down the body to the scratching paw and feet. Though an eye might have been nice, this works just fine w/o it. Well done.

Judy, the pose you captured here is fantastic...and your exposure is spot on. I just keep wondering why you chose this shooting angle. If you would have chosen a much lower angle, the photograph would have been more intimate. And you wouldn't have had that dull looking water in the background. Just a thought...

Thanks Jasper for your comments . They are always appreciated. My reason for not having a lower angle was because we were out in the water and also it was quite muddy and we were a little uncomfortable because earlier in the day three of us got stuck in the mud up to our waist. Fortunately help was near. I can certainly see why you would make that suggestion though. Thanks

This is a great pose in lovely light. An open eye would have been cherry on top but who am I to complain. It is a great photograph as it is. :-)

    Cheers,

Really like the pose of the bear and the detail as well. Those claws really stand out!

Love this one Judy. Might try to lighten the eye of the bear in PP....
