I rescued this little Masked Lapwing last week, well picked it up from my vets after some kids took it to them since they found it. Little did they know that the parents leave the young put in the face of danger and lure the offending party away with their vocal displays. Not knowing where she came from it was nigh impossible to reunite, especially with another family. Nevertheless, she was only about four days old and weighed 28 grams. I weighed her yesterday and she put on 30G in a week; little fatso. She is doing very well and is a real chatterbox.

Of course when she is an adolescent. :) About two more weeks. At this rate she will be a vulture in no time. :D

    YEs Gus,
She could fend for herself from the moment of hatching. However, we have to make sure she will be able to fly! :)

    HI Al
Thanks for the kind words Sir. :)
How about you guys think of a name? Our possums in our hospital cages are Sam, Snappy Tom and Lenny. Our two Noisy Chicks are Chub And Grub, cannot think of anything sensible for this one. We have been calling it 'Little one' in Polish (malutka).
