    Default The Vegetarian

I have seen this behavior on TV sometimes but it was amazing to see it happen in personal life. This lil guy was playing/chewing/trying this branch for a while.

    Your comments are welcome.

What I do not like: Wish the grass twigs was not messing his face and right flank.

    Cheers,
    Kartik

Impressive capture, Kartik, I don't mind the weeds because they are so small and form part of the habitat. The background could use a little darkening of the borders to keep the eye inside the picture. I did that here with the filter "Darken/Lighten Center" from Nik Color Efex. Hope you like it. You could also use the Burn tool in Photoshop.

    Hey Fabs,

Thanks for the edit. The changes are subtle but does make the difference. However I did not understand what you meant by darkening of the borders to keep the eyes inside the picture. Did you mean eyes of the viewer? I am sorry if it comes across as a n00b question, I am just trying to understand. Really appreciate your taking the time to illustrate the finer points of PP.

    Cheers,
    Kartik

Yer, Kartik, I mean the viewers eyes, with the light colors, they may wander outside, but if the borders are darker than the rest of the image, the dark acts a barrier, bouncing the eyes back to the lighter part. Glad you liked it :)

Interesting behavior. I like the habitat and also the angle and look of the tiger's face. Grass on the body and face are fine as they're rather small and unobtrusive. I might remove the lighter branch in the lower right corner (as viewed).

    Kartik,

That was a good suggestion by Fabiola and does enhance the image. Darkening the boarders is an old trick of portrait photographers in the darkroom as well and for the reasons Fabiola explained. Ansel Adams did it too.

@Fabs: Thanks Fabs. I really appreciate your suggestion.

@Steve: Thanks Steve. I missed that twig in the bottom right hand corner. Thanks for bringing it to my attention.

@Robert: I agree Robert, this is the kind of detail that I get to learn over here.

Sabyasachi, David, Judy: Thanks for the encouraging words. :-) I am glad you liked the image.
