    Default Spread your wings!

Another juvenile Peregrine photo from California. It was great getting to know these beautiful birds.

Looks like just as he's getting ready to leap off the cliff he has to check back to make sure the photographer is ready!

Love the eye contact and wingspread. Nice, complimentary background colors.

    Doug:

Lovely wing display, with nice detail, esp. in near wing. Nice HA,complimentary BB, sharp.

My only small concern is the merge of the back wing with the darker area of the rock. It is a little distracting.

Very nice overall, share some more!

    Beautiful image Doug....

Perfect focus on the eye, excellent exposure, love the wing spread and great background.

You've been getting some stunners of these birds.

Very very good. I also like the wing position and detail. Would like to see it without the OOF rocks on the right though.

Very nice capture with great detail and the eye contact is to die for. Wish the cliff wasn't so overpowering but it is what was there.

Hi Doug, how is that eye contact - as if he's asking you, are you ready. Love the detail on the outspread wings, and amazing colours in the BG. Pity the far wing tips just fall out of your DOF, but it doesnt distract from a great image.

That's precisely why I shot wide open. I wanted plenty of shutter speed without pushing the ISO too high in case the bird did fly.

Great wingspread, overcast light, and eye contact. Very appropriate perch, and great IQ for the ISO.

    Well Done!

I wish I had spent more time with these Peregrines early on. They were only around for a few weeks after you left. I love the nice eye contact and extended wings a very nice composition Doug.
