    “Moonlight Sally”

    Note:
The base image of Sally’s portrait was modified by applying a textured oil canvas finish to the background, followed by a poster edge outline and finished off with an ink brush application to get the diffused semi-smudged background and soft texture on her fur.

This is the Moon Light Sally, a pretty little kitty who makes her home underneath a trailer home not too far from this vintage mail box at Jumbo’s, in Virginia Key, Miami. The image was painted with a Nikon D300s, using a Nikkor 18-200mm f/3.5 – f/5.6G ED VR lens.

    Image Solution:
    focal length @ 90mm / exposure mode @ aperture priority / in camera matrix metering / 1/80 sec. - f/5.6 /exposure comp @ 0EV / ISO @ 320 / white balance @ auto / AF - Mode @ manual / color space @ sRGB / lighting solution – ambient light / tone comp @ 0 degree / hue adjustment @ 0 degree / saturation factor @ 1 degree / support platform – hand held, with VR engaged.

    Comments greatly appreciated...

Nice Gus, she's a beauty! I like the textures and the bits and pieces of color here and there. Lovely! I like how her eye color matches the mailbox.

Tough exposure Gus ... and well done !!! Having such a large dark area in frame helped the camera out !!!

Subject is so strong even with the bg highlights the image looks very good !!!
