........ before we are walking the dunes again in pursuit of these snowy owls. Hope we have as good a year as last winter. It makes being out in the cold worth it.

Ha, great reminder. Love the composition with the ridge,
the bird is just perfect. I'd sharpen the head a bit more I think.
    Very nice!

I love the high key look here Joe. Your choice to place the bird off center makes this image visually appealing as does the great eye contact caused by the bird's powerful stare. You also did a good job showing the isolation of winter.

Joe, Very nice composition and I like the white on white look to this image very much. Hope to see them again this year!

I like the composition, exposure control and eye contact. Another vote for more sharpening. Let's hope for another good snowy owl year.

Hi Joe, I also like the composition. Keeping the bird small in frame helps the feel/mode of this image. More sharpening might help but very nice as presented.

Sweet shot Joe nice low angle and eye contact. This is a bird that is high on my wish lists to shoot someday.

You guys really impressed me with these snowy owl images last year, and if this is anything to go by, cant wait for the rest. Good exposure with the whites all round, and love the placement of him too.

I love the comp, and snow setting...BUT...I find it could go lighter overall, unless you like gray snow. (P.S. another vote for more sharpening)

    Joe:

I like the overall picture, but I think Daniel made a very good point. The whites as presented are in the 220 range throughout. Pushing them up to around 240 makes the bird present better IMHO, but still retains the winter feel. It also gives the sense that the bird is sharper.

Love the comp and good to see. With Daniel on going brighter and a tad sharpening. Nice one.
