This is a follow up to a previous post of mine a couple of days ago. Taken on the Montlake Fill adjacent to Lake Washington and the University of Washington on Sept. 11, 2009. A rare treat - amazing wings :)

Hi Terry it is great to capture a rare treat. The colour of the bird, although it is an immature looks a lot darker than the image of the bird I posted and has got me thinking that my ID could be wrong?
You did well here, may I ask why you use one-shot AF and not A1 servo for a subject that moves?

A very good in flight capture Terry. I like the slight wing blur and eye contact. Maybe a little more space in front but then again the bird is flying slightly downwards and I asume your reason for the square crop.

Thanks very much, Dave and Hendri. Dave, I think your ID is correct, at least based on my limited knowledge. This bird is quite young, based on the blue beak and blue skin around its eyes.

Hendri, I always struggle with composition :)

As an additional note, Dave, I have not had particularly good results with AI servo. I always seem to end up with too many oof shots.
