This image of my step daughter reading to her neice, was taken by my step daughter's husband in very poor light with a video camera, from which he produced an image for us. Hence not the best quality. But I was going through images of the family today and came across it and wondered what could be salvaged from it. Hence the presentation. Cropping and a few filters gives the result. Should be in OOTB, but thought it was fitting in a way for this theme as well.

Not quality image, rather quality life.

    Enjoy!

(if you like it, stop by the OOTB board and see some other images, by participants there, that are not just out of the box) ;)

Mark, Thanks for the plug! Very nice moment captured and does look like an OOTB effect!

Mark, this is actually very cool! I like the effect you got, kind of an impressionistic painting style.

Thanks for your viewing and comments.

Yes, Kerry, that is what I felt. Unfortunately I did not take the image, so I can not reproduce it. The original dark image produced most of what you see in the very excessive noise. That followed by some tweeking and cropping gave me the image. However, the imperfection of the image and Arianna's expression of awe in seeing the pages that Allison was reading makes it work, in my view.

Sometimes what is bad can be made good, or at least interesting.

Thanks Gus and Al for viewing and comments. Appreciate it.

I can't take credit for the capture, but I did enjoy making it worth viewing with the crop and filters.

That's why I don't throw away images the day of shooting. Might find a gem along the way, when you least expect it. With my learning PS I am finding new ways to make some older images interesting.
