    Somak:

A big welcome to BPN. It is a great place to learn and share.

Soft light here, very flattering, with complimentary background. Nice angle of bird in frame.

    Several points to mention.
    1) Please be sure to post your camera and lens details with each image. That helps a lot in the critiquing of an image

    2) Generally images without elaborate frames or surrounds display best. Most folks don't do any frame.

    3) Its preferable to not have the tail/feet/wingtips of an image clipped.

    4) The large foreground branch which covers the feet is somewhat distracting.

    5) The head and eye are a little soft and might benefit from a bit more USM in post processing.

    6) You might consider cloning out the small twig sticking up from the bottom of the frame on right.

Where are you located? I don't know this particular bird, and it is nice to see a new one.
    Please post some more images.

    Again, welcome to BPN!

    Randy

Welcome Somak! I think Randy's covered all of the bases here. I might also lighten the eye a little. Look forward to seeing more of your work!

Big welcome to BPN, hope we can help you improve your skills :)

Not much left after Randy's critique, just wish you the best and that you feel right at home here.
    Nice presentation, BTW.

I didn't measure it but the longest allowed on horizontal images is 1024 pixels.

Welcome to BPN and nice first post! I like the pose, eye contact and BG. Adding to Randy's suggestions, I might lower the color temperature a few degrees. Keep them coming!

Hi Somak, Welcome and ditto Randy's comments and the questions above. Actually, the foreground branch is pretty much an image killer.... Do you know the cause of the bump on the bird's bill?

Good job from the folks above.

I'll just take the opportunity to welcome you to BPN, and also hoping to see more from you (I love discovering new species such as this one you presented us!)
