cropped a bit off the bottom and small amount off each side.
sorry, still on the deer pics.... what can I say. when you have to shoot, then you have to shoot. and if all you have is deer....then you photo deer. lol
I had to lower the quality level to about 60% to get this to fit within the 200 kb size. There are catchlights in the doe's eyes, though they don't show in this small size.....
Love how the mother nose is almost touching the child's nose, lovely interaction. Background and foreground show good environment that these deer are in, well except the one that cut the child's neck. Look like the other child being jealous of the one on the right.
I like this as it is, but might also try to crop just the mother and the child on the right, just to emphasize the interaction more, but that will tell a different story.
great interaction and good separation between all three. dof is fantastic. i would try to tone down all the foliage around to put more emphasis on the deer. not sure how to achieve that. be interested to here what the others say.
are you still using the bigma? nice job if you are!!
Hi Cheryl - lovely family portrait - love the interaction between them all.
A little more DOF to brin gthe rear deer into focus a little more would have been nice - might not have been possible though.
Toning down the BG a tad will help the family POP a bit.
Keep em coming :)
DOF looks good Cheryl, and you left room for the feet! Might try sharpening the eyes a bit more to try and make them stand out. You are lucky to be able to get so close to photograph. The interaction between the Mom and the deer on the right is precious.
the cropping seems tight to me. but if made wider, than you don't notice the faces as much......
I guess what I was wondering is if I should include more habitat....
Hi Cheryl,
I like the composition, image and capture..this is a lovely family portrait...I like it as presented...agree with Mr. Peters on a little more depth of field for the young one in the back...looking forward to your next one...
Hi Cheryl I would include a little more habitat to the right They seem to be looking in that direction
For the sharpening would try only for the animals. The sharper foliage tends to grab attention and pull your eyes from the subjects. Love the interaction, very fine image !!!
.... btw when you reduce size remember to use bicubic sharper, seems to make a little difference !!
