Last Friday I went on a walk through a local quasi-wetland, looking for birds. Large parts of it are dried out now, and near the edges there are trees. The paths took me into a tunnel of vegetation. Around one corner, just before a dead end, I found this. It appears that there were flowers that have dried up, and what's left are the bright red ovaries.

Strange looking plant, a good eye for this one. I think a few of the red beads would make an interesting closeup. As is, the composition as is doesn't really grab my attention. The bg kind of takes away from the main subject.
Hey Bill, nice subject, and I think the BG would work well with a little softer blur, but not bad as is. I would add a tad more contrast to make the reds pop more. Good details.
