Western Sandpiper

Taken a few weeks ago as I really liked the water color captured in the bg as this Western Sandpiper was feeding.

Love the foraging pose, exposure, and water color. Tack sharp too. Malibu State Beach Lagoon? I am considering a trip down there. How is it in December?
Lovely colors and nice reflection. I like the composition very much, despite some might wish for a more complete reflection. Congratulations.

Beautiful colors and nice low angle. well done

Hi James,
Gorgeous light! Nice BG, cool pose and colours. I would have liked to have seen this with a bit more room on the bottom as to include the whole reflection and a little less room on top. Otherwise great!
I like the IQ here James. I think that the reflection as presented could be improved by taking a bit more off the bottom if you have not captured the total reflection.
Beautiful subject captured with all it's great color and detail. Love the water color and low angle used here.
Excellent capture Jim. The lovely colors are giving this a nice feel. Well done!
I like it very much. The BG is just excellent.
It's awesome in both October, November, December and January! I spent 2 + 3 weeks in Pacific Palisades and I went down there at least 10 times during 2 separate trips to California.
Great opportunities to photograph Sanderling, Western Sandpiper, Spotted Sandpiper, Marbled Godwit, Gulls, Ducks, Egrets and Herons, Pied-billed Grebe, Royal Tern, Peregrine Falcon (outstanding views, sitting only 40 ft ahead of me!) and much more.
Also Marina del Rey, near LAX is really good spot for approachable shorebirds.
