    Default Female Gold Finch

I made this image this past June. The males are certainly more vibrant in color, but the soft muted colors of the females are also beautiful.

1DMK2 with 500 f4 and 1.4 TC. Evaluative metering at ISO 500 with EV -2/3 with f6.3 and 1/1000. Fill flash with BB at EV - 1 2/3. cropped a bit for comp.

    Thanks for looking. C&C welcome.

I like the light, head angle, sharpness and BG. Could you have moved a bit to your right to avoid the chest/perch overlap? I would desaturate the yellows a few points.

I like the side view, the perfect HA, and the great sharpness. I do agree on de-SAT-ing the yellows.

Agree with the above points, and would add that the image looks a tad over-sharpened to me.

Beautiful use of fill flash, I agree with Axel that moving to the right might have given you a slightly better angle. Background is very nice and smooth.
