CS4/Topaz Clean2
Instead of my usual Topaz Adjust fine detail, I used a burn brush in CS4. Then TopazClean2, CS4 B&W adjustment, and finally history brush to bring back the yellows.
comments and critique welcomed. regards~Bill
Bill, Really nice details in the wings and I love the hanging feet-"my favorite" I like the effect applied-it's subtle. I might try to lighten the wings and bird a bit in areas just a touch. I like the composition.

Neat image and treatment, Bill. I think as Denise noted a little selective lightening on the bird would be nice and I myself might tone down the feet just a little - I know that is probably their actual color but it looks too saturated against the b&w tones to me. Love that hint of color at the eye!
Very nice image, Bill. I like the pose and great use of selective color. The topaz effect is perfect, it brings out the details while remaining subtle. Well done!
Michael; I'm not sure which textures. Anyway, here is exactly what I did;
CS4 -new layer(Ctrl/Shift/ N) mode: Overlay, check Fill with Overlay-neutral color(50%gray), use black with regular brush (5-10% opacity), paint in details that are already there, but less obvious. Flatten image, then Topaz Clean 2 -Stylize Details. Followed by history brush to paint over areas that were yellow.
