    Good Morning Everyone! :)
Greetings from a very autumnal morning in the UK!
Here is another image from my recent hugely enjoyable visit to Nickerson with Artie and Co. I was experimenting with various shutter speeds as the evening was drawing in and the birds were getting restless. This is one of a skimmer that was spared the delete key...:D

    Nicki:

Very interesting. It looks almost like a paper airplane to me, two dimensional.

I might try a version where the bird is moved more towards the upper left corner, so it is flying into the frame.

I have worked on these types of images at times, and find them challenging but entertaining. Most of mine go into the bin, but sometimes you get one that really works.

    Thanks for sharing.

Nicki, very good attempt at this effect, I do like the abstract quality of it. I agree with Randy on placing the bird more on the top left corner. I think the orange beak really gives this a boost. Did you have an oportunity to try this with several birds in the frame?

Hi Nicki, well thought out, and I like shape and curves in this. I agree with Randy by moving him back to the ULC.

Hi Nicki: Another "Nicki" image out of the box. Still trying to decide if this works for me or not. Maybe the suggestion on moving the bird to the UL. I always look forward to opening one of your images to see what surprises await!! Thx for sharing

Nicki, I love it! Very abstract look to it and another vote for UL. Well done.

great "zoomotion" in this image......I like the placement as it shows speed across the frame
rather than anticipation of speed "coming" into the frame.

this is one option.....since it is now OOTB

Very cool save! I like it as is. I guessed that it was a skimmer before reading your text. That orange beak and wing position gives it away. Those guys zoom by so fast that it is really difficult to get a shot, so I think your abstract really tells the photographer's story of that difficulty. I like it a lot.

Hi Nicki, I like your abstract rendition. Agree it should be placed more towards upper left. You might need to enlarge the canvas to put it there...

    Hi Guys!
It has been a while since I was in OOTB...:D:D
I really appreciate all your comments and as I was explaining to the guys in Avian, I tried putting the bird in the UL and it does not seem to work for me. I like the tension that the bird flying out of the frame brings, and as Patti suggested, it does tell the story of just how fast they zoom by! Also, I just couldn't get the negative space to work as well with bird moved to the UL.
Dave, loved the zoom lines!!
    Best to all,
    Nicki

Hi Nicki...I've never been fond of blur's but this one caught my attention, especially with the zoom effect by Dave. Make this image. Welcome back.
