That would be Great Blue Heron and Red Winged Blackbird. This is not a composite, just coincidental.
    comments and critique welcomed. regards~Bill

Bill, I love the HK. I like the pose of the GBH. The head intersecting with the wings does not bother me as you can see the head very clearly. I love the legs dangling! The RWBB is a nice addition to the composition. It is a bit tight for me-but it is well composed. I would run some NR. There is also an artifact in BG.

Bill, I find your Adjust/Clean style very effective on most images and very much
like a fine lithograph. This one for me just has too much busy coloration.

    IMHO

and a nice catch with the RWBB....agree with Denise about the excess chroma noise

I love the pose and the treatment on the Heron. I think the RWBB looks so different, treament-wise, that the composition might be better without it. ??

Hi Bill, Agree with some of the others comments. Since the 2 birds are not interacting IMO the rwbb is pulling your eye away from your center of interest...

    Hi Bill,
Have to agree with the above observations - to me the heron is stunning on its own.
    Best,

Hi. A valid point was made about the non-interaction and distraction that the RWBB provides, especially from DMills, so I agree the bird needs to be evicted. The noise? I took the image last May, and at some point used Topaz Adjust, however, as pointed out, there is a noise problem. A little investigation showed that Topaz Clean2 had not been used (probably hadn't come out yet when the image was worked on). In any case I have posted the imge, sans RWBB, with Topaz Adjust and Clean 2 as in more recent images posted. Is this better? regards~Bill

Bill, The composition does look stronger.
