Hi Jeff - HA, Exposure and eye contact are all spot on - that clear sharp eye sure is cool.
Not sure about the crop though - think I would crop some from the LHS and the bottom. The lighter spots in the BG do not bother me.
    Keep em coming :)

Like the HA and the sharpness of the bird, nice clear eye like Lance said. I would also take some of the left. Great job:)

Jeff, nice and sharp focus on the skinny heron. I like how the angle of the head matches the ripples in the water. The crop is an improvement. IMHO, These birds offer difficult poses to capture in a unique and interesting manner.

Jeff, Nice details and I think the tighter crop looks better. Nicely done.

Another vote for the tighter crop Jeff. Good HA and eye contact.
    Congrats

Nice image of this juvie, Jeff. I agree w/ Connie about the challenge these long-necks pose to composition. Like the re-post better.

Re post looks better Jeff These guys with the long necks are difficult, I think one of the best angles is straight on with a pano look !!! Excellent !!

Thanks for the feedback, The repost looks good, I favor the first post. It looks original to me, the repost looks kinda standard - so it goes.

I like the original too since it showed more of the neck. What I like most about this image is how it make me feel like the bird is stretching its neck to look at something, so more of the neck the better for me.
