    Default Male Northern Harrier

This male harrier was outnumbered by females 10:1 on my recent Utah trip. Not that he needed to be, but he was quite striking, especially his eyes.

    Canon 1D Mark III, 500mm + 1.4x, f/9, 1/1250, ISO 1000, tripod, manual exposure

Doug a very interesting image as the harrier comes into the frame. The image of the bird is sharp and the BG is nice too giving a sense of the environment. Since this is a frontal image, it would have been nice if both the eyes were fully visible as well as the beak which is presently lost in the body. Another suggestion would be to crop it slightly from the right and bottom of the frame to make the bird slightly more larger in the frame.

Nice pose and interesting BG. I would like a little more room on the left so he isn't so cramped.

Great setting and pose and I wish for a bit more room on the left, too.
