Default Theme: Audubon - American White Pelican

Here is another composite. This time in James Audubon style. I used a base image of pelican and transformed using warp and distort to get the wire propped shape. The background is the view of the North Beach from Pt Reyes. Then used the DAp portrait template to get the effect and blend with the original. Used a layer mask to open up the details on the pelican followed by few other adjustment layers to get the final effect. Hope you like it.

Indranil, I like this image very much from the lighting, backround and Dap effect. Couple of things...the image is a bit tight within the frame especially on the bottom and left. If this were mine I would take out the few small white areas near the birds head. Good overall job on this with your hard work paying off...

Thanks Dave. Actually I cropped it tight on purpose to give the feel of the original. Audubon's style for the Pelican portrait was very tight on the frame. I will repost another version with clearing up those white spots.

Indranil, Beautiful rendition and I think you achieved your goal here. As a finished image for display-I may add some canvas as Dave mentioned. But I do understand staying true to the original work of the artist. Well done!

Hi, Actually you are correct about Audubon's style after looking at some. Didn't consider that in your presentation but glad you mentioned it. Again, nicely handled!

Indranil, I was sitting at lunch yesterday thinking "nobody has done an Audubon - think I'll try it...". You beat me to the punch! :D I really like what you did, great job of recreating the style!! Good show!

Lovely work! Not only true to Audobon, but the light is so pleasing and "golden".

Indranil - very, very nice work. The only thing that's missing is Audubon's signature!:)
