Anita asked what my Dahlia looked like with color-here is the original image w/o the duotone.
I took Roman's crop suggestion and added it to this post.

Hi Denise..Beautiful lighting, detail and color. Black backround pops the image. I actually like your original crop as opposed to clipping the leaf in this image.

    Hey Denise,
If I'm going to take the heat for the crop.....go slightly higher (middle of your sig eliminating the brighter area of the horizontal leaf).......and then I love it:D! The light really makes this stand out. I like both versions.....with the crop of course!;)

Yes! Now I'll take the heat for the crop! Love the tones on the bloom too! Center just glows!

Denise, I think I prefer this version a little more than the duotone version. Not the duotone was bad, of course :). Love the colors!

I think when you have a skilled photographer and a beautiful dahlia you just can't go wrong! Both versions are lovely, well exposed and handled nicely in pp.

Thanks, Denise! I'm definitely a color person when it comes to flowers. I got out my magnifying glass to lood at the details in the petals and center--perfect. Very nicely done.
