    Default Painted Gulls, 2 versions

I am really liking the variable "dry reveal" in DAP 2 and the selectable
individual painting color palettes. This first one was Benson with the "Tarbell 1" palette.
Then worked in ps with a textured parchment overlay in multiply mode....and some other light tweaks.
This is mostly a monochrome base image with some blur mask applied in DAP
    before rendering.

thank you for looking in and c/c......and the opportunity to share

#2 is a chalk render with the central lower gulls removed.....DAP now has a feature
to remove unwanted visual elements and paint the area back in

Dave, the base image sure is sweet! I find the first version more appealing because there is almost a halo
around the gulls and the reflections are more prominent. I can hardly wait to play around with DAP this
weekend - I like what everyone is doing with it:)

Dave, These are some fine examples of the features available w/ the upgrade. I am in LOVE w/ the first image. Colors and soft reflection are most appealing.Beautiful base image and your composition is fantastic. I like the texture in the second post and find the pink palette to be very nice.Very neat that you can remove unwanted areas.

Dave, I like the first version best. The middle gulls complete the picture IMO. Great effects. Love the colors and textures.

I'll make it unanimous for choice number 1. I find the effects and colors more pleasing for that one, especially the reflections. Well done, Dave. Thanks for sharing the original and the two different renditions.

thanks for comments everyone....yes, I too much prefer the first.
The second was more a DAP experiment to remove an element before painting
    and play with color palettes
