    Default Sanderling at First Light

Photographed at Sandy Hook a few minutes after sunrise. The bird was very close, hence the shallow DOF.

The light doesn't get any better than this. Wonderful capture. Don't know how low you were , but the angle works well. I might take a touch off the bottom. Just my taste.

Delicious light and I like the bubbly water texture. Agree that a smidge off the bottom would be an option but like it as presented.

Lovely light! I also like the low angle of capture, pose, and head angle. Thanks for sharing.

Lovely light, nice pose and great bird. It is interesting that in summer light even at high noon,
white birds get pinkish hue. Here you've got lots of it.

You got to love peeps and the adventure getting close to them. All the positives already mentioned. I might give him a little room in front of him if you got it. Congrats

Sweet light, and I like the angle of pose. Lovely pastel colours in the BG, and good to see the bubbles around the feet. Looks like he's standing in boiling water.

Awesome shot Axel. I love the light, and really love bird images like this with the bird so large in the frame.

Thanks for the comments and suggestions. I cropped it this way to leave enough space for the 'virtual legs'.

Sweet light, pose, sharpness, and juvenal plumage. A crop from just above your signature would still leave lots of room for the virtual legs and feet. I am fine with sharp on the eye and whatever for the rest....

I think both light and framing are perfect. :)
