This image is of an Hawaiian flower shot last year. The twist is the use of a Bas Relief filter and Twirl. Just playing with it and thought it came out very interesting.

    Enjoy!

    This is the original. FYI.

Presume the similarities are obvious! :D

Mark, Very interesting use of color and the twirl looks great. The image doesn't seem balanced enough to carry a center placement. IMHO . But your vision-your way!!:):D;)

Hi Mark, I like the color and the swirl effect. I might have cropped from the bottom into the lower swirl to eliminate the black and some of the some of the unrelated pieces on the bottom. Subjective of course...

    Hey Mark,
Hard to believe that the OP was from the re-post......very different to say the least. Did you crop?....I'm not sure how swirl works but I would imagine thee was a bit of black up top......just curious. I do like the overal look of this and as I agreed with Dave's assesment on some of the horizontal bottom pieces......so I tried a crop and cloned/patched what remained. I feel that the horizontal pieces took away from the swirl.....so anything that removed those distractions.....including cloning/patching to remove those......would only strengthen the image overall. Let's see what others chime in and let me know what you think.
PS I did try lightening the middle with a levels layer adjustment and a bit of selective colors to the blacks.....you may want to play around with that too!

Hi Mark. Very interesting twirl, and the colors are great. Thanks for sharing the original. It always amazes me to see the transformation. Roman, I think you make some good points, but I do kind of like the "feet" on the original. I might remove just some of the lines at the bottom.

Thanks for the viewing and comments. Appreciate it.

I did miss the lines at the bottom... Don't know how, but ... I would also remove the remant one that you left to the right of the bottom swirl, Roman. But thanks for the vision.

Denise, I looked at other placements of the center, but felt that the composition would suffer if I offset it. I like the complete major swirl and that would have to be compromised. But thanks... Each viewer is entitled to a vision... ;)
