    This is a portion of the 13 km/8 mi bridge that links Prince Edward Island to the mainland (New Brunswick), Canada. It was opened in 1997 at a cost of over $1 billion Can. It's a toll bridge and you pay coming back to the mainland ($42.50 Can), so if you drive over and swim back you can do it for free! The image was made on the NB side and you can see PEI between the spans. Apparently it's the 25th longest bridge in the world and as the water in the image (Northumberland Strait) freezes over every winter, it is the longest bridge in the world over ice, or so the PEI government says! Incidentally, in the summer this water is the warmest on the east coast of NA north of the Carolinas and gets up to a tropical 26°C/79° F!

    I must go back and capture the same image with some interesting sky.
