    Yes the light is tough but handled pretty well. I might darken the lower right corner as it pulls the eye from the great subject matter you have captured.

    Too bad about the light. More flash might have helped. Not sure about the BG, but I like the poses, and interaction

    The pose and eye contact are really cool. The light is too harsh here, but as you said, sometimes it is what it is.

    Harsh Light, what can you do? You asked, and I'm sure we all have the same dilemma (at least I do).You could wait for better lighting conditions, or maybe a merciful cloud, or shoot subjects in the shade, or create high key images by shooting subjects completely backlit and overexposing, or wait until the sun is lower(doesn't reduce high contrast, but it is easier to have the subject's shadows behind it and thus hidden) or you could use a fill flash. This being said, I usually just head to the house. regards~Bill
