Such a cute capture and the eyes just pop out at you. It is definitely sharp where it counts and I like the DOF you chose for this image. The clean BG adds a lot to this image. Thanks for sharing Thijs.

Must be the week for jumping spiders. :) I really like the sharpness of the eyes and the reflections visible in them. A very nice background as well. I would wish for a little more DOF, but at this magnification, there isn't much to work with.

Very nice! Great colors and eye contact. I love the shallow DOF, though I think the details could use a little more sharpening. Well done!

Cool shot. Love those eyes and nice DOF. There is a bright spot behind the spider, I don't think its destructive but a bit distracting. I keep finding these bright spots creep up on me as I practice macro photography...

Hey Thijs, I usually like a little more DOF on critter shots, but because of the larges eyes on this guy the shallow DOF creats an interesting look.

Yup, I could go either way - either a little more DOF or a little more sharpening at the front of the image - either way it's a lovely portrait (and I don't often use the word "lovely" when talking about spiders!) Love, love, love that BG and great comp! All that open space really pulls your eye in to the little guy in the corner.

Great looking eyes and a nice composition. Smooth light and good BG.
