This is an old one I am reworking. I took out the bright green leafy BG and put in a more neutral one.

    I like it,
The darker colors, sharpness, stare, Comp and centralization make a unique and a lovely image.
I might add some space on the top.

I like the idea, crop, soft light and BG. I might level the eyes and the image could go a tad lighter for my taste.

Super image, Kathy. I love the was you've handled the dof to draw focus to the eyes and bill. Only thing I would modify is to level the eyes. The detail and texture of the bird's bill is so interesting. Upon real close inspection, I do see remnants of the green by the right cheek (as viewed).

    Default Pelican as Suggested

Thank you so much for the suggestions and comments. The first time I leveled the image I used the "shoulders", now I have used the eyes. I did lighten it up a bit and added a little more room at the top. I also increased the saturation.

Different Kathy, but I like it especially the eye contact :) Pictures made up from shades of predominently 1 colour (as this is now with your bg change) very often appeal to me.

I like the repost and would only sharpen the bill a bit less.

Different, and it works for me. I like the direct eye contact, and love the detail. The repost is much better. Well done.
