Another iris I shot with fill flash with a heavily shaded backround. I removed all small remnants of the backround. Applied Nik tonal effects and and lightly applied Topaz simplify

Beautiful composition, Dave! I love the black background with the colors of the iris. Very nicely handled subtle use of filters.

Dave, Beautiful composition.I like the slight effect applied and the BG color really makes this pop. I am still seeing a bit of the remnants in the BG. (Dave I was on my laptop and the screen was pulled a bit forward which made the BG remnants stand out- But on my PC I don't see the remnants at all.)

Beautiful colors that just pop out of that black background. I really like all the detail that I can see inside the Iris. My eye gets drawn inside the flower.

I like the color and feel of this flower. I am bit bugged by the fact that the one leaf is hanging almost directly over the other stem, it makes me think that there is a chunk of something missing.

one of your best treatments IMO Dave.....I see the iris in a way that I
want to reach out and touch it.

even if incorrect, might taper the bud tips just a bit

Dave, It's gorgeous but I agree with Dave P about the bud tips - the flower is so elegant and curvy and the buds are blunt and square looking.
(of course that's the way they are so do you want to mess with them?):)
