    Amazing difference this afternoon from yesterday...elk are on the move rounding up the ladies, thrashing trees, bugling, etc.
    I spotted this bull yesterday and decided to go back late today to the same spot. I was rewarded with this bull swimming across the river behind his harem, as well as many others.

    1Ds Mark III, 500mm
    Manual, spot off grass, 1/500 @ f/4.5, ISO 400
    Post-production- LR2, CS4, from 12 in laptop

    Like this. Tells of wilderness and struggle of existence as well as a neat portrait with good eye contact. Ditto Harshad re large print.

    I like the wide-eyed look, the symmetry of the antlers, and the color of the water. Would've liked to see him coming out of the water too.

    Not an elk image you see everyday. Really like the eye and how the antlers and just a little bit of the head is above water.
